Internet Marketing & Social Media Lecture for Lynn Univ. Students

I was flattered and honored when asked to give a presenation on Internet Marketing & Social Media to MBA students at Lynn University.  I look forward to presenting them with something useful and something that I am passionate about, Interent Marketing.

I used Guy Kawasaki’s 10/20/30 rule for PowerPoint presentation. Although I am not looking to raise money, his guide worked very  well for me when I sat down to create this lecture.

“Content, Content, Content” is the new “Location, Location, Location”

I wanted to share a chat session that I just had with my senior SEO Content Writer.  We were just chatting when I went off into a “content is King” kind of rant about what we can do together to cost effectively provide SEO services that has the most profitable effect on the SEO campaign’s ROI.

SFIMA Mobile & Social Media Marketing Event at NSU

Today I atteneded the Mobile & Social Media Marketing –1-Day Workshop hosted by SFIMA which was held at Nova Southeastern University in Davie, Florida.   The event was packed with information regarding the Mobile Internet market as a Social Networking tool to drive business.  I now know about Short Codes which are essentially domains for Mobile Marketing Campaigns.  

As always, SFIMA (the South Florida Interactive Marketing Association) has great presenters.  This event had presentors from 3CI Interactive, Arch Media, Office Depot, MySpace, and Tandem-Interactive.

Tracking Hurricane Ike on the Iphone – Weather Underground

One of my passions is to track hurricanes.  I like it because the information that you can find on the internet is so up to date, almost real-time, that it makes it exciting for me.  Recently, Wunderground recently updated their iPhone web app, (i.wund.com)  check it out if you have and iPhone and may be in the Cone of “Uncertainty” or what I call the Cone of Death.

 

Another cool thing is to track active tropical storms using the same address for the iPhone, but on your PC.  I like viewing it on my PC because you get  real big and clear images of satelite imagery, radar images, and large tracking maps.    Check it out.

Google Chrome – “Stats for nerds”

Google Chrome is getting tons of buzz online through mostly search marketing sites, blogs, and social profiles.  I would definately recommend trying it out.  You can download it here, http://www.google.com/chrome, but be sure to check out the Task Manager (Crash Control) feature.

Be sure to check out the “Stats for nerds” feature option.  It shows how Google tries so hard to be mainstream and “open” source.  Can’t fault them for that.

Hello World! From Peter Leshaw

The purpose of this blog is to promote myself as an Internet Marketing Consultant.  My name is Peter Leshaw and I have been working professionally online since 1998 when I took a job as an Internet Director of a non-profit technology and business development incubator.  That was my first insight into Search Engine Marketing and Web site Content Development.  The two entities, content and search, together complete the circle to connect visitors from search engines with products and services.

Since that time, I have been working on the many marketing niches that together make up Internet Marketing.  The types of Internet Marketing that I have leveraged to drive more traffic to web site, increase ROI, and develop new business are: Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Content Development, Directory Submissions, Sponsored Search, Paid Search, Pay Per Inclusion, Pay Per Click (PPC), Link Development and Link Building, and Social Media Marketing.

I will use this space  on the world-wide web to talk about my experiences as an Internet Marketing Consultant and to re-brand myself as a Social Media Marketing Manager.

Content is king!  Without the Content, there is nothing to Market, nothing to Search, and nothing to Socialize about.  Let me educate you about Internet Marketing, Search Engine Optimization, Web site Development, and Social Media Marketing by blogging about related market current events and industry trends.

I am also a technology freak.  I love real-time information and tools that are mobile that make life easier.  I will also blog about technology as related to electronics and mobile computing.
